Fawkes and Reece are working with a Leading Tier 1 Main Contractor with offices biased all over London, in the recruiting of a Supply Chain Manager. This role focuses on that goods, materials, services, and information move efficiently from suppliers to customers while balancing cost, speed, quality, and risk. The role confidently navigates complexity because of high operating costs, complex urban logistics, international business activity, sustainability pressures, and fast-moving customer expectations. The role is primarily strategic rather than purely operational and is a contributor to business growth, sustainability, resilience as well as day-to-day supply chain management.

The Role

I am working with a Leading Tier 1 Main Contractor in the search for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to provide strategic leadership across their supply chain and procurement function. This role is key to ensuring goods, materials, services, and information move efficiently from suppliers to customers whilst balancing cost, speed, quality, and risk. Working primarily in a strategic capacity rather than purely operational, you'll contribute to business growth, sustainability, resilience, and day-to-day supply chain management within a complex urban logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing strategic leadership across end-to-end supply chain and procurement, ensuring optimal balance between cost, service excellence, and risk management
  • Leading category management and sourcing strategies aligned with organisational priorities, commercial objectives, and sustainable procurement goals
  • Establishing and maintaining strategic supplier partnerships through robust relationship management, commercial negotiation, and contract governance
  • Leading supply chain transformation initiatives including process optimisation, digital procurement improvements, and sustainability programmes
  • Developing and inspiring a high-performing team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional development across the function

Requirements

  • You’re CIPS qualified or equivalent with significant procurement experience in building products, preferably gained in construction or civil engineering
  • You have a demonstrable track record of best-in-class supply chain delivery with strong negotiation skills and national supplier management experience
  • You’re a skilled communicator with experience managing stakeholders at director level and across operational teams
  • You have proven experience in portfolio and contract management, including vendor management, performance reporting, and category management principles
  • You’re a collaborative influencer experienced in navigating complex client, supply chain, and stakeholder landscapes within a large organisation
