An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established residential developer within their Technical team. This role offers the chance to work on a range of exciting development projects, supporting land acquisition and project delivery through accurate and timely cost planning.
The Role
Reporting to the Technical Director, you will be responsible for preparing cost plans to support land appraisals and development opportunities, ensuring all estimating work is delivered efficiently and accurately.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing initial viability assessments for land bids
- Liaising with Land teams on current and future opportunities
- Producing detailed cost estimates including construction costs, site abnormals, professional fees, preliminaries, and site management costs
- Supporting value engineering exercises at appraisal and pre-construction stages
- Obtaining specialist subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Ensuring all viability assessments align with internal guidelines and procedures
- Assisting with pre-budget cost preparation
- Supporting the review of site budgets and variance analysis
- Providing guidance to commercial teams at project handover stage
- Producing and submitting cost and statistical reports as required
Requirements
Experience:
- Previous experience working as an Estimator within residential development or housebuilding
- Groundworks experience is desirable, but not essential
