Fawkes and Reece West have a fantastic opportunity for a Temporary Site Manager to join a dynamic construction company, who are a market leader in retail fit-out and refurbishment throughout the UK. We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in retail refurbishment projects for a project in Ipswich, starting as soon as possible for approximately 10 weeks.

As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the site and overseeing all activities of the site team, labour and sub-contractors to achieve successful completion within the agreed programme and to the Company and Customer expectations. To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have a strong retail refurbishment/fit-out background and are confident managing subcontractors, maintaining site standards and ensuring excellent communication across the site team.

Key Responsibilities as Temporary Site Manager:

  • Oversee all retail refurbishment site activities and monitor progress against the programme, taking remedial action where appropriate.
  • Monitor and inspect the quality of work to ensure high standards are achieved and address any issues with subcontractors and trades.
  • Keep site records up to date and completed in line with Company and legislative requirements.
  • Identify potential issues which could affect successful project delivery and take the necessary action to remedy or escalate as appropriate.
  • Identify solutions to site problems, implement improvements and organise site activity to ensure the project is delivered efficiently.
  • Manage the performance of direct reports and subcontract labour, ensuring they are working safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure HSQE standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented and adhered to at all times.
  • Take corrective action on any breach of policy to ensure a safe site, free of accidents and incidents.
  • Be responsible for the safety of the public when working in a live retail environment.
  • Coordinate the activities of different subcontractors to ensure work is carried out efficiently and to the required standard.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the client, subcontractors, trades and other third parties throughout the project.
  • Ensure the project is completed on programme and to the required quality standards.

Certificates and Requirements for this Role:

  • As Site Manager, you MUST have previous retail refurbishment/fit-out experience for this role, plus:
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid
  • PASMA
  • Fire Marshal
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • CSCS
