Fawkes & Reece are working with an established independent fa ade contractor based in Cardiff who are seeking an experienced Draughtsman / CAD Technician to join their team on a freelance basis.
We are looking for someone with proven experience working on cladding and fa ade projects, who can provide high-quality technical drawing support across a range of commercial and residential schemes.
The role of Draughtsman / CAD Technician will be site based working on projects in and around Cardiff.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience within the fa ade and cladding industry is essential
- Proficient in AutoCAD (Revit experience advantageous)
- Ability to produce detailed fabrication, construction and installation drawings
- Strong understanding of fa ade systems, rainscreen cladding, and associated components
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
The Role
- Preparation and coordination of technical drawings and details
- Liaising with project teams, contractors and suppliers
- Assisting with design development and project delivery
- Freelance opportunity with flexible arrangements available
Benefits

- 12 months work - could continue for the very long term or go permanent for the right candidate.
- Day rate - 250 to 300 per day ( depending on experience )
