A leading specialist contractor delivering complex structural refurbishment, concrete repair, marine, and civil engineering projects across the UK is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of marine and infrastructure projects within the Dover framework. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of technically challenging projects across the marine and civil engineering sectors.

The Role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of 4-5 concurrent projects, typically valued between £3m-£4m each. This is a hybrid position, requiring approximately 2 days per week on site in Dover, with flexibility to work remotely and travel to project locations as required. The role requires a strong operational leader with proven experience managing marine and heavy civil engineering schemes in live operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple marine and civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion
  • Oversee project teams, site management, subcontractors, and supply chain partners
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Lead planning, coordination, and reporting activities across multiple live projects
  • Support commercial performance, forecasting, and contract administration
  • Drive compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within marine and/or heavy civil engineering sectors
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects valued between £3m-£4m+
  • Strong background in marine works, infrastructure, highways, ports, or structural refurbishment
  • Good commercial and contractual awareness, ideally with NEC contract experience
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Relevant construction or engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
