We are working with a well established, award winning Main Contractor who are leading specialists in the delivery of Fit Out, Refurbishment and Construction services to high profile clients across the country. In order to support the business's growth plans, they are looking to recruit an experienced Planner to support delivery of the company's Fit Out projects. This is a critical role for the company, ensuring the development of achievable programmes and ensuring progress is accurately monitored.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing, maintaining and controlling project programmes across live works within the Fit Out sector.
  • Developing and maintaining fully logic-linked construction programmes from tender through to completion.
  • Breaking down project scope into clear tasks, sequences and milestones aligned to methodology.
  • Working closely with project managers, site teams, commercial teams and subcontractors to gather accurate planning information.
  • Monitoring site progress and updating programmes to accurately reflect actual performance.
  • Producing short-term look-ahead programmes (1-week, 2-week and 4-week) to support effective site delivery.
  • Identifying programme risk, delay, opportunity and constraint, and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Analysing the critical path, assessing the impact of change, variation or disruption.
  • Preparing clear planning reports for internal management and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting resource and cost planning by aligning labour, plant and materials with programme requirements.
  • Attending and contributing to project and progress meetings, providing clear planning insight to support decision-making.
  • Ensuring compliance with company planning standards, governance procedures and reporting requirements.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • A strong track record in project planning, with evidence of tender programmes aligned to actual delivery performance.
  • Experience and strong understanding of the Construction/Fit Out Sector.
  • Excellent planning and programming expertise using Asta Powerproject.
  • Experience working on projects typically ranging from £350k to £5m+.
  • Good working knowledge of tender and contract documentation, procurement routes and specifications.
  • Familiarity with common forms of contract, including JCT and NEC3/NEC4 (D&B and PPC 2000 advantageous).
  • A commercially aware mindset, recognising programme risk and its link to cost and commercial exposure.
  • Strong understanding of risk and opportunity management, particularly in relation to planning and programme control.
  • A consistently high level of Health & Safety awareness.

Key Requirements

  • Scotland-based - able to travel to the Glasgow office.
  • Minimum 3 days per week on site.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Fully IT-literate, including Asta Powerproject and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel (intermediate level).
  • Willingness to travel as required by the role.
