Crane Supervisor - Marine Project
Location: Newhaven, East Sussex
Contract: 6 months
Rate: £25.00 per hour
Crane: 130-ton crane
Start: Immediate / ASAP
We are currently looking for an experienced Crane Supervisor to join a marine construction project in Newhaven.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise crane and lifting operations on a busy marine construction project.
- Ensure lifting operations are carried out safely and in accordance with approved lift plans.
- Coordinate crane operators, banksmen/signallers and other lifting personnel.
- Ensure lifting equipment and accessories are suitable and properly inspected.
- Liaise with site management, lifting teams and other contractors.
- Monitor exclusion zones and maintain safe working practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety requirements.
- Report any issues or unsafe practices to site management.
- Maintain accurate lifting and site documentation.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Crane Supervisor on construction, marine or heavy lifting projects.
- Experience supervising large crane operations, ideally 100-ton+ capacity.
- Relevant Crane Supervisor / Appointed Person or lifting supervision qualifications as required for the role.
- Strong understanding of lifting operations, lift plans and site safety.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a busy site team.
- Relevant CSCS/CPCS/NPORS or equivalent certification where applicable.
