We are looking for an experienced Working Foreman to join an established and growing civil engineering team, 2 years work in Coventry initially.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience within civils and groundworks, with the ability to lead a site team while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day works.
The Role
You will be responsible for overseeing groundworks and civil engineering activities on site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing daily site operations and allocating labour effectively.
- Reading and working from drawings and specifications.
- Ensuring works are completed to programme and required standards.
- Liaising with site management, engineers and subcontractors.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety on site.
- Carrying out quality checks and resolving issues as they arise.
- Leading by example and being prepared to get hands-on when required.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Extensive experience in civil engineering and groundworks.
- Proven experience as a Foreman, Working Foreman, Site Supervisor or similar.
- Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, concrete, foundations, utilities and associated civils.
- The ability to read drawings and understand construction specifications.
- Good leadership and communication skills.
- A strong understanding of health & safety requirements.
- A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work as part of a team.
- A reliable and professional attitude.
This is a hands-on role, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable leading from the front and has a genuine understanding of groundworks and civil engineering gained through practical site experience.
