A leading construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Sustainability Manager to support the delivery of sustainability objectives across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout London.

Working on a range of commercial, residential, mixed-use and hospitality developments, you'll play a key role in embedding sustainable practices across the project lifecycle while working alongside project teams, consultants and clients.

The Role

As a Sustainability Manager, you'll provide technical guidance and ensure sustainability targets are achieved across multiple projects. Reporting into the Sustainability Manager, you'll support the delivery of environmental initiatives and promote best practice throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sustainability initiatives across live construction projects.
  • Manage and coordinate BREEAM assessments from design through to completion.
  • Support whole-life carbon and embodied carbon assessments.
  • Promote circular economy principles and sustainable material selection.
  • Assist with social value reporting and environmental performance monitoring.
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure sustainability requirements are achieved.
  • Support bid submissions and contribute to sustainability strategies for new projects.
  • Engage with subcontractors and design teams to improve environmental performance.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Sustainability Advisor role within construction.
  • Strong knowledge of BREEAM.
  • Experience with embodied carbon or whole-life carbon assessments.
  • Understanding of circular economy principles and sustainable construction.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Degree qualified in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geography or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of WELL, ISO14001 or Net Zero strategies would be advantageous.
