An established and growing residential developer is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support housing developments across the Central region. With a strong pipeline of projects and a focus on delivering well-designed, sustainable homes, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the commercial delivery of multiple developments.
Working closely with the wider project team you will be responsible for helping to drive commercial performance and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.
Responsibilities:- Managing subcontract procurement processes to ensure best value and cost‑effective project delivery
- Overseeing subcontractor accounts, including valuations, variations, contra charges and final accounts
- Producing and maintaining project cost reports, forecasts, cashflow updates and cost value reconciliations
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities across housing developments
- Supporting value engineering initiatives in collaboration with design, technical and construction teams
- Carrying out regular site visits to review project progress, subcontractor performance and valuations
- Administering affordable housing contracts and ensuring all subcontractor compliance checks are completed
- Assisting with the resolution of subcontract disputes and maintaining strong commercial controls throughout the project lifecycle
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent industry experience
- Previous experience working for a residential developer or within the housebuilding sector
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, subcontract management and cost control
- Experience managing mixed‑tenure residential developments
- A solid understanding of standard forms of contract including JCT and trade contracts
- The ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes accurately
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word, with knowledge of COINS being advantageous
- A collaborative approach with excellent communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
