Exciting opportunity for a Bid professional in the Construction or related industry, with bid design experience, to join the parent company of four leading UK Contractors. The perfect candidate will have Bid designing experience and Graphic Design experience - you MUST have both, as bids experience is required for this role.

About the role of Bid Designer: We are the Parent company to a group of contractors, who through its subsidiary companies, aims to provide a comprehensive basket of products and services for the creation and maintenance of high-performance workplaces in the UK and internationally. The business is comprised of four subsidiary companies:

We mainly work across the Education, advertising & media, finance & banking, health & pharmaceutical, professional services, property & serviced office, technology and travel and hospitality sectors. Responsibilities for Bid Designer:

  • Bid Design & Production: Design, format, and produce bid documents and presentations, ensuring clarity, visual appeal, and alignment with client specifications while maintaining consistent formatting for easy navigation.
  • Visual Content Creation: Develop eye-catching visuals such as infographics, charts, illustrations, and layouts that simplify complex ideas and enhance the impact of bid documents.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all materials follow brand guidelines, maintaining a cohesive visual identity.
  • Interactive Content: Create dynamic, interactive presentations using tools like Ceros (or similar) to engage and impress clients.
  • Proofreading: Review all materials for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and adherence to bid specifications, ensuring a flawless final product.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the bid team, project teams, and interior designers to ensure designs align with the overall bid strategy and client needs.
  • Client-Focused Design: Tailor designs to meet client requirements and make submissions persuasive.
  • Deadline Management: Work effectively under tight deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials without compromising design integrity.
  • Bid Library: Help create and maintain a library of templates and reusable assets to streamline future bid production.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance the bid production process, ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Group Design Collaboration: Support the wider design team by contributing to internal presentations, branding, and other design-related needs.

Requirements for Bid Designer:

Essential:

  • Proficiency in Design Tools: Expert in Adobe InDesign, with knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
  • Attention to Detail: Strong proofreading, editing, and quality control skills.
  • Organisation: Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively and convey ideas clearly.

Desirable:

  • Industry Experience: Experience in bid design for the construction or related industries.
  • Web Design Tools: Familiarity with Ceros or similar platforms.
  • Additional Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.

You will bring to the table:

  • A degree in graphic design or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a senior design role, preferably in marketing or bid environments.
  • Exceptional creativity and a strong portfolio showcasing diverse design projects.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and a passion for producing error-free, high-quality work.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the construction or workplace design industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
