Exciting opportunity for Estimators ready for the next step up, or already Senior Estimators, to join a leading £1 billion multidisciplinary main contractor in either their student accommodation division or their industrial division, based in Northampton area.

We are a multidisciplinary main contractor specialising in Industrial, build to rent, student accommodation, civil engineering & infrastructure projects. We are a privately owned business, currently with over 550 employees.

We are looking for Senior Estimators to join our Estimating team across two divisions of the business, the industrial division and the student accommodation division, due to a continuous busy workload that has no intention of slowing down. We are a reputable business, with an excellent staff turnover and very strong financials behind us. One thing that we are passionate about is promoting a healthy work-life balance and a supportive environment for our staff. There are currently 5 Estimators in the team in the student accommodation part of the business and 12 Estimators in the industrial side.

Looking for people who are either ready for the next step up in their career or are already a Senior, but want to join a supportive, successful company where there is the opportunity to become a Principal Estimator within 2-3 years of joining if desired.

Responsibilities for Senior Estimator:

  • Analyse tender documentation (drawings, specifications, contracts etc)
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive bids for projects
  • Identify & assess project risks (design, site conditions, procurement etc)
  • Work collaboratively with design & delivery teams to optimize project value
  • Provide full cost breakdown & tender handover to the project delivery team
  • Support the Project Manager & QS during early stages of the project
  • Prepare Estimating reports & presentations for Senior Management
  • Supervise & mentor junior Estimators
  • Ensure Estimating procedures and company standards are followed
  • Promote collaboration & continuous improvement within the Estimating team

Requirements for Senior Estimator:

  • 8+ years experience
  • UK based & experience working in UK
  • Experience working for a main contractor
  • (INDUSTRIAL DIVISION) Shed/warehouse experience ideal, but will also strongly consider a good Design & Build Estimator
  • (STUDENT ACCOM DIVISION) Design & Build experience, and student accommodation/residential experience is a bonus
  • Need to be agile thinking, fast on feet & switched on
