Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Multi-Skilled Handyman / Maintenance Operative to join a team responsible for maintaining a portfolio of high-end residential properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual with a broad range of maintenance skills who takes pride in their work and can provide a professional, reliable service to clients.

The successful candidate will carry out general maintenance and repairs across various residential properties, liaise directly with property owners, and coordinate subcontractors where specialist work is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out general property maintenance and repairs.
  • Undertaking second-fix carpentry, including general repairs and adjustments.
  • Completing decorating and painting tasks.
  • Carrying out basic plumbing and electrical maintenance.
  • Inspecting properties and identifying maintenance requirements.
  • Liaising directly with property owners to arrange and complete works.
  • Organising and supervising subcontractors where specialist or certified work is required.
  • Providing regular updates to management on maintenance work and property conditions.
  • Managing workload effectively and ensuring all jobs are completed to a high standard.
  • Maintaining a professional and courteous approach when working in clients' homes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Handyman, Maintenance Operative or in a similar multi-skilled role.
  • Competent in general maintenance, second-fix carpentry and decorating.
  • Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Own tools required to carry out general maintenance tasks.
  • A professional, trustworthy and customer-focused attitude.
  • Full-time, permanent employment opportunity.
  • Varied work across a portfolio of high-end residential properties.
  • Opportunity to work independently and take ownership of maintenance projects.
  • Support from specialist subcontractors for complex or certified work.
  • Opportunity to build strong relationships with clients and establish yourself within an established property maintenance operation.
  • Potential for long-term career development.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a versatile maintenance professional who is confident dealing directly with clients and understands the importance of working in high-end residential properties.

You don't need to be an expert in every trade. The client has specialist subcontractors available for work requiring certification or specialist expertise, so we're looking for someone with strong all-round maintenance abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
