We are currently working with an established residential / social housing main Contractor who are looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their team in Hampshire / surrey .
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tenders across a range of residential developments, working closely with the commercial and technical teams to ensure projects are competitively priced and commercially viable.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for residential developments.
- Conducting viability studies.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and relevant documentation.
- Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Carrying out material and labour take-offs.
- Identifying potential cost savings and commercial opportunities.
- Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
- Supporting the commercial team through the tender and procurement process.
- Ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive and submitted within required deadlines.
About You
- Previous experience working as an Estimator within the open market, residential construction sector.
- Strong understanding of house building and construction costs.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and schedules.
- Good knowledge of subcontractor and supplier markets across South Wales.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in relevant estimating and Microsoft Office software.
