Our client, who is a leading M&E company within the industry, is currently searching for an experienced Sustainability Manager who can implement strategies to improve the organisation's environmental impact while assessing current operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving the safety waste management, environmental, sustainability and social impact elements of their service offering. You will ensure that the company works towards finding new, innovative and economically reductive ways to stay environmentally friendly and compliant with legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and legislation
  • Conducting audits and assessments including regular environmental audits to identify potential risks and areas for improvement
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation in areas like energy efficiency
  • Assessing the sustainability practices of suppliers and ensuring transparency throughout the supply chain
  • Evaluating suppliers, monitoring the supply chain and promoting fair trade practices
  • Overseeing sustainability assessments (BREEAM, CFSH, WELL, HQM, Passivhaus, etc.)
  • Analysing project KPIs and carrying out internal reporting
  • Managing sustainability consultants and assisting the sustainability lead in maintaining climate and environment management systems
  • Supporting the sustainability lead in advancing the sustainability agenda and improving business performance through campaigns, communications and training
  • Supervising a junior professional to enhance sustainable business value
  • Measuring the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from operations and the supply chain
  • Evaluating energy consumption and deficiency across all businesses
  • Working with projects from early involvement through to delivery, to identify and embed carbon and circularity savings
  • Providing guidance and support on site on community aspects of CCS to improve scores
  • Recording meeting minutes, site visit reports and correspondence with the project team to demonstrate progress against sustainability certifications such as BREEAM, WELL, NABERS targets
  • Conducting regular site inspections, recognising best practices and promptly addressing any concerns ensuring the project stays on track
  • Creating, refining and maintaining the environmental management plan making it an integral part of the project's success rather than just a formal document
  • Supporting Project Managers and Framework Managers to maintain strong relationships with particular clients, local authorities and frameworks and representing the business within those forums
  • Addressing or supporting ongoing requests for collecting and providing various utility data and information within the regions for initiatives including surveys and the Carbon Net Zero ambition
  • Identifying programs available through utility companies and government agencies for rebates and other benefits to reduce operating and capital costs
