We are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a major hospital project on a freelance basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-profile healthcare development, working alongside a well-established main contractor.
Role Overview
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of the project, ensuring costs are effectively controlled and value is maximised throughout the lifecycle. You will be working closely with the project and site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to deliver successful commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to final account
- Manage subcontractor packages, including procurement, valuations, and variations
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow
- Prepare and present financial reports and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards
- Provide strategic commercial advice to the project team
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction projects
- Previous experience working on healthcare or hospital projects is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field
Duration: 3 months
Hours: 40 hours per week
Rate: £31 per hour (CIS)
Start: Immediate / ASAP
