Opportunity for a Senior MEP Project Manager to join a leading multidisciplinary contractor supporting the delivery of major data centre projects across London and the Home Counties. About the role

Our client is seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of MEP works across major data centre projects. Reporting into the Project Director, you will take responsibility for the full MEP project lifecycle from pre‑construction through installation, commissioning and client handover. You will manage specialist subcontractors, coordinate internal teams and ensure all building services are delivered in line with programme, budget and client expectations. This is a key leadership role requiring excellent technical knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to drive project performance across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of mechanical, electrical and public health packages across major data centre projects
  • Manage MEP subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards
  • Coordinate MEP design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities
  • Work closely with project management, commercial, planning and design teams to achieve project objectives
  • Drive health, safety, environmental and quality performance across all MEP activities
  • Monitor project progress, identify delivery risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Review technical submissions, RFIs, design changes and value engineering opportunities
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing and client handover processes
  • Ensure commercial awareness across MEP packages, supporting cost control and programme delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
  • Mentor and support Project Managers, Engineers and wider site teams
  • Promote continuous improvement and best practice throughout project delivery

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior MEP Project Manager, MEP Project Manager or Senior Building Services Manager delivering major construction projects
  • Strong background delivering data centres, mission‑critical, commercial or major infrastructure projects
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical and public health building services installations
  • Demonstrable experience managing projects from pre‑construction through commissioning and practical completion
  • Strong understanding of commissioning, integrated systems testing, QA/QC and project handover
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and specialist subcontractors on large‑scale developments
  • Excellent leadership, commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant qualification in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management
  • SMSTS and CSCS essential
  • Professional membership or chartered status advantageous
