Opportunity for an Electrical Construction Manager to join a half a billion turnover contractor supporting delivery on a major data centre project in High Wycombe. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established MEP contractor with a strong reputation for delivering technically complex projects across commercial, infrastructure and mission-critical environments. Working alongside experienced operational and technical teams, you will play a key role in the safe and successful delivery of electrical packages on a high-profile data centre development. This position would suit a driven construction professional who enjoys fast-paced delivery environments, strong stakeholder engagement and maintaining high standards of quality and programme performance.

About the role

Our client is seeking an Electrical Construction Manager to support the on-site delivery of electrical building services across a major data centre scheme in High Wycombe. Reporting into senior project leadership, you will coordinate subcontractors, manage installation activities and ensure electrical works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project and client expectations. You will work closely with project management, design, commissioning and commercial teams throughout the construction lifecycle.

Responsibilities for Electrical Construction Manager

  • Manage day-to-day delivery of electrical construction activities on site
  • Coordinate electrical subcontractors and direct labour to achieve programme milestones
  • Monitor installation quality and ensure works are completed in accordance with specifications and approved drawings
  • Drive health, safety and environmental standards across all electrical works
  • Support sequencing, planning and short-term programme management
  • Coordinate interfaces between electrical, mechanical and CSA teams
  • Review technical information and raise design or buildability concerns where required
  • Attend progress meetings and provide regular updates to senior project stakeholders
  • Support testing, energisation, commissioning and project handover activities
  • Identify and mitigate construction risks and support problem resolution on site
  • Maintain strong working relationships with client representatives, consultants and supply chain partners
  • Promote continuous improvement and high standards of project delivery

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Construction Manager, Electrical Project Manager or senior site-based electrical delivery professional
  • Strong background delivering MEP / building services projects within construction environments
  • Previous exposure to data centres, mission-critical, commercial, industrial or large-scale infrastructure projects preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and electrical installation programmes
  • Good understanding of commissioning, QA/QC, energisation and project handover processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and coordinate design information on site
  • Strong understanding of LV electrical systems and electrical infrastructure delivery
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or Construction
  • SMSTS and CSCS desirable
  • First Aid qualification beneficial
