Location and Working Hours: Offices at Falmer, East Sussex; Chatham, Kent; Chichester, West Sussex. You will also need to visit the sites you are supporting, and you have the option to work from home. Core Hours: 10 to 3.
What will you be responsible for?
- As a Design Manager, you'll be working with the Project Managers and Project Directors, supporting them to check and empower the design partners to deliver to plan.
- You'll also be tracking and reporting on the design progress of their particular projects.
- Your day to day will include:
- Lead and manage engineering design delivery for assigned projects.
- Spearhead and optimise the engineering assurance process for designs prepared by partner at outline design and Capital Delivery partners at tender and construction design.
- Work collaboratively with other project functions to deliver outcomes efficiently.
- Seek opportunities to enhance affordability and value throughout the design process.
- Ensure compliance with Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations, managing design‑related health and safety risks.
Requirements:
- Chartered Engineer status with a degree level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
- Full valid driving license.
- Experience working in a regulated environment such as water or wastewater.
