A leading privately owned contractor based in the south coast are currently seeking an experienced construction biased Health & Safety Advisor to join their business. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with an extensive background as a reputable contractor. The Health & Safety Advisor will play a key part in the development and future of the business.
About the role of Health & Safety Advisor
This main contractor traditionally specialises in commercial & residential new build, refurbishment, maintenance and fit out projects. Across the education, health & industrial new valuing up to £30M throughout Hampshire, Dorset, Sussex and Surrey region for private and framework clients. The role of Health & Safety Advisor will be joining a team of four people and be based in their office in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Responsibilities for Health & Safety Advisor
- Responsible for ensuring all H&S documentation is filed and stored correctly, complying with H&S management system.
- Assist operational site teams with training as and when required following on from any gaps highlighted after site audits.
- Regularly & thoroughly promote a safe working environment both internally and eternally representing the business and their values.
Requirements for Health & Safety Advisor
- Previous experience within the construction industry is fundamental.
- Relevant qualification including either NEBOSH Construction or a member of IOSH.
- Effective communication skills and attention to detail
