We are looking for a talented and experienced Design Manager to join our team in Guildford and to make a positive impact within our growing business. Managing the design process from Pre-Construction through to and including the construction phase for projects up to £25m.
You will be responsible for:
- Looking ahead and planning all aspects of the project, identifying challenges and bringing imaginative and cost-effective solutions to the table
- Working within current legislation, standards and codes of practice where needed
- Looking to eliminate health and safety and financial risk during construction
- Keeping a good flow of quality information to ensure pace with the project timescale
- Having the ability to build good solid relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to work equally well as part of a team or on your own
- Ability to communicate at all levels and be understood
- A broad understanding of alternative forms of procurement, to include frameworks, negotiated and 2 stage tenders
Experience:
- Understanding of traditional construction and D&B
- Thorough understanding of CDM regulations
- Knowledge of software - for example BIM and 4Projects
