Are you a passionate Health and Safety Manager with previous experience in the construction industry? We are working with a well-established regional Main Contractor who specializes in the delivery of new build, commercial, educational, and refurbishments across the southeast. Due to increased growth, they are currently looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team.

About the Role of Health and Safety Manager

You will see yourself reporting to the Operations Directors and Contracts Director managing the company's health and safety requirements. Providing expertise and direction ensuring the continuous improvement to SHEQ performance and promoting a positive SHEQ culture.

Responsibilities for Health and Safety Manager

  • Developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures compliant with regulatory standards
  • Conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Investigating accidents or incidents, analyzing causes, and implementing preventive measures
  • Collaborating with Project Managers, Engineers, and Site Management to integrate safety protocols into project planning and execution
  • Maintaining health and safety accreditations
  • Promoting a positive health and safety culture

Requirements for the Health and Safety Manager

  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager with a background working for a Main Contractor
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively train and engage team members in safety initiatives
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks and develop proactive solutions
  • General NEBOSH certificate
  • CSCS Card
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
