A leading main contractor is currently looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager with a strong commercial fit-out background to join a major mixed-use development in Luton. The role will focus on the internal fit-out of a substantial commercial and community building, taking the space from white box / shell-and-core condition through to completion. This is an opportunity for a Site Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of internal packages, coordinating multiple trades and driving a fit-out programme within a large, complex construction environment.
The Role
- Take responsibility for the internal fit-out of a large commercial/community building
- Manage the works from white box onwards through to completion and handover
- Coordinate subcontractors and specialist fit-out trades
- Manage the sequencing of drylining, ceilings, flooring, joinery, decorations, MEP interfaces and associated finishes
- Work closely with the project team to deliver the fit-out programme
- Monitor progress, quality and workmanship across all internal packages
- Coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors working concurrently
- Identify and resolve programme, quality and coordination issues
- Undertake regular inspections and manage snagging through to completion
- Liaise with the construction, commercial, design and engineering teams
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with the programme, specification and health & safety requirements
- Drive the building towards practical completion and successful handover
About You
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within commercial construction or fit-out
- Strong experience delivering commercial interiors from white box / shell-and-core through to completion
- Experience managing multiple internal trades and specialist subcontractors
- A strong understanding of MEP coordination within commercial environments
- Excellent knowledge of finishes, quality control and construction sequencing
- Experience working to demanding programmes within a large project environment
- Strong subcontractor management and communication skills
- A proactive approach to problem solving and delivery
- Relevant construction qualifications, ideally including SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid
