A leading main contractor is currently looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager with a strong commercial fit-out background to join a major mixed-use development in Luton. The role will focus on the internal fit-out of a substantial commercial and community building, taking the space from white box / shell-and-core condition through to completion. This is an opportunity for a Site Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of internal packages, coordinating multiple trades and driving a fit-out programme within a large, complex construction environment.

The Role

  • Take responsibility for the internal fit-out of a large commercial/community building
  • Manage the works from white box onwards through to completion and handover
  • Coordinate subcontractors and specialist fit-out trades
  • Manage the sequencing of drylining, ceilings, flooring, joinery, decorations, MEP interfaces and associated finishes
  • Work closely with the project team to deliver the fit-out programme
  • Monitor progress, quality and workmanship across all internal packages
  • Coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors working concurrently
  • Identify and resolve programme, quality and coordination issues
  • Undertake regular inspections and manage snagging through to completion
  • Liaise with the construction, commercial, design and engineering teams
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with the programme, specification and health & safety requirements
  • Drive the building towards practical completion and successful handover

About You

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within commercial construction or fit-out
  • Strong experience delivering commercial interiors from white box / shell-and-core through to completion
  • Experience managing multiple internal trades and specialist subcontractors
  • A strong understanding of MEP coordination within commercial environments
  • Excellent knowledge of finishes, quality control and construction sequencing
  • Experience working to demanding programmes within a large project environment
  • Strong subcontractor management and communication skills
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and delivery
  • Relevant construction qualifications, ideally including SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid
