We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Site Manager or Trades Supervisor to join a busy residential new-build development in Crewe. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term freelance position on a 12-month housing project with an established housebuilder. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys being on the tools. You will be responsible for managing snagging and finishing works, coordinating subcontractors, carrying out quality inspections, and ensuring plots are completed to a high standard.
The Role
Working closely with the Site Manager, you will oversee the completion of snagging items, finishing works, and quality inspections to ensure homes are ready for handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out snagging inspections and identify defects.
- Complete minor remedial works where possible.
- Coordinate subcontractors to complete outstanding works efficiently.
- Manage snagging and finishing works through to completion.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure homes meet company standards.
- Assist with plot handovers and ensure homes are presented to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate records of outstanding and completed works.
- Work closely with the Site Manager to achieve build quality targets.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with company procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience within the housebuilding industry is essential.
- Experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Finishing Foreman, Snagging Manager, or similar role preferred.
- Candidates from a supervisory trades background (Carpentry, Joinery, Bricklaying, Painting & Decorating, Multi-Trade, etc.) with new-build housing experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of snagging, finishing, and quality standards within residential housebuilding.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate subcontractors and prioritise workload effectively.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
