Job Purpose
The Site Roadsweeper is responsible for maintaining clean and safe site roads, access routes, and surrounding areas. This role ensures the smooth operation of the site by removing debris, mud, and dust using a mechanical roadsweeper and other cleaning equipment as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a mechanical roadsweeper safely and efficiently on and around the site.
- Carry out daily checks and basic maintenance of the sweeper (e.g. refuelling, cleaning filters, checking fluid levels).
- Keep access roads, car parks, and perimeter areas free from mud, dust, and waste.
- Dispose of collected debris in designated areas, following environmental and waste management procedures.
- Assist with other general site cleaning or maintenance duties as directed by the Site Manager.
- Follow all site safety rules and report hazards or equipment issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of sweeping activities, inspections, and maintenance.
Skills & Requirements
- Valid driving licence (HGV licence may be required depending on vehicle type).
- Previous experience operating a roadsweeper or similar plant machinery (desirable).
- Understanding of site health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
