Fawkes & Reece are currently working with a leading shopfitting contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Fit Out Manager for a new gym project in Llanishen, Cardiff.
The project is due to commence in October 2026 and is expected to run for approximately 10-12 weeks. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fit Out Manager with a strong commercial fit-out or shopfitting background to join an established contractor and play a key role in delivering a high-quality project.
Key Responsibilities
As Fit Out Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of the project, including:
- Managing the fit-out works from commencement through to completion and handover.
- Coordinating subcontractors, trades and site personnel.
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
- Managing the site programme and coordinating multiple trades and activities.
- Liaising with the Project Manager, client, consultants and subcontractors.
- Monitoring progress and addressing any issues that may affect programme or quality.
- Ensuring all works comply with relevant health & safety legislation and company procedures.
- Conducting regular site inspections and ensuring quality standards are maintained.
- Managing snagging and ensuring the project is completed to the required standard.
- Attending site meetings and providing regular progress updates.
- Maintaining accurate site records, reports and relevant project documentation.
Experience & Qualifications Required
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Fit Out Manager, Site Manager or similar, preferably within the shopfitting, retail, leisure, hospitality or commercial fit-out sectors.
- Experience managing fast-paced interior fit-out projects from start to completion.
- Previous experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and programme management.
- Good understanding of health & safety requirements within a construction environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a project effectively.
- A strong eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
- CSCS qualification/card appropriate to the role.
- First Aid at Work would be advantageous.
- A relevant construction qualification such as NVQ Level 6 Construction Site Management, HNC/HND or equivalent would be desirable.
