Opportunity for a Building Services Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a main Tier 1 contractor supporting delivery across major construction projects within their London portfolio. Working alongside experienced operational and technical teams, you will play a key role in supporting the successful coordination and delivery of electrical building services from design through to completion. This position would suit a technically capable and proactive individual who enjoys working across project teams, driving quality standards and supporting the delivery of complex electrical building services installations.
About the role
Our client is seeking a Building Services Engineer to support the management and delivery of electrical building services packages across major construction projects. Reporting into senior project and engineering leadership, you will assist with design coordination, technical review, installation management and commissioning activities to ensure electrical systems are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements. You will work closely with project management, subcontractors, consultants and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Support delivery of electrical building services packages from pre‑construction through to completion
- Review electrical design information and identify coordination or buildability issues
- Coordinate consultants, subcontractors and installation teams to support programme delivery
- Monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with specifications and project standards
- Assist with planning, sequencing and progress monitoring of electrical works
- Support technical reviews, RFIs and design development processes
- Coordinate interfaces between electrical, mechanical and construction teams
- Support testing, energisation, commissioning and final handover activities
- Assist with QA/QC documentation and project close‑out requirements
- Identify and elevate technical risks and support resolution activities
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
- Promote health, safety and continuous improvement across project delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience within a Building Services Engineer, Electrical Engineer or site‑based MEP delivery role
- Strong background delivering electrical building services within construction environments
- Experience supporting projects from design through installation and commissioning
- Good understanding of low‑voltage electrical systems, containment, power distribution, lighting and associated building services infrastructure
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and coordinate design information
- Experience working alongside subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or Construction
- Knowledge of QA/QC, commissioning and handover processes advantageous
- CSCS desirable
