We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner to join a multi-award-winning Main Contractor delivering projects across the Construction, Retail, and Fit-Out sectors throughout the UK. This is an office-based role in the Cardiff area, with some flexibility for home working. The role will also require regular travel across South Wales to attend site, progress, planning, and stakeholder meetings.
The Role
You will be working on large-scale industrial, storage, and distribution projects, playing a key role from contract award stage through delivery on live sites. Attendance at site and client meetings will be expected, where you will provide updates on:
- Programme and progress
- Related costs
- Design changes
- Planning application progress
Essential Requirement
You must have previous experience delivering large “shed” projects (industrial / distribution units) with values in excess of £25m.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
- Proven experience on large new-build construction projects, including major industrial “shed” schemes
- Recognised, relevant planning or construction qualification
- Degree (or equivalent) in Construction or a related discipline - desirable
- Experience working on live sites from contract award stage
- Previous site-based experience as a Planner or similar - advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of planning software such as MS Project, Asta Powerproject, or similar
- Tender planning experience - desirable
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Must be within commutable distance of Cardiff
- Willingness to travel across South Wales as required
