Fawkes & Reece are working with a prestige Tier 1 main contractor that delivers large-scale residential developments, including purpose-built student accommodation and retirement living apartments. Their projects are typically high-rise RC frame developments, and due to continued growth they are looking to recruit an experienced Carpenter or Joiner who wants to progress into a Site Finishing Supervisor role specialising in passive fire snagging and finishing works. This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a carpentry background who wants to move into site supervision while developing specialist skills in passive fire protection.
The Role
You will work alongside the site management and aftercare teams, supporting finishing, snagging and fire-related carpentry works across major residential developments. Projects are located across Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester, with travel and accommodation covered when working away from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise carpentry operatives completing finishing and remedial works
- Coordinate and manage snagging activities on site
- Inspect works to ensure high quality standards
- Support and inspect passive fire carpentry elements
- Work closely with Site Managers and Project Managers
- Ensure works meet Health & Safety and building regulations
Passive Fire Scope
- Fire doors, frames and ironmongery
- Fire-rated partitions and ceilings
- Fire stopping around carpentry penetrations
- Maintaining building fire compartmentation
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Carpenter / Joiner
- Experience working on construction sites
- Ideally experience on large residential or RC frame projects
- Strong attention to detail
- Someone looking to progress into supervision
- CSCS Card (SSSTS desirable)
