Fawkes & Reece are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager on behalf of a leading Tier 1 main contractor. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business delivering high-profile construction projects across South Wales and the South West. This role will be primarily office-based in Cardiff, with responsibility for overseeing projects in both Cardiff and Bristol, reporting directly into the Regional Director.

The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will take full responsibility for leading and managing all commercial activities across the region. You will play a key role in driving profitability, managing risk, and supporting the strategic direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Leadership
    • Lead all pre- and post-contract commercial functions across multiple projects
    • Drive commercial performance and maximise profitability
    • Work closely with the Regional Director to support business strategy
  • Pre-Construction
    • Lead tender appraisals, bid strategy, and adjudication processes
    • Ensure robust commercial input and risk management across all bids
  • Project Delivery
    • Oversee contract administration and commercial management of live projects
    • Ensure effective cost control, forecasting, and reporting
    • Manage procurement of subcontractors and supply chain partners
    • Identify and mitigate commercial risks, including dispute resolution
