My client is an esteemed quality Hotel Group, looking for a HR Assistant Manager for their properties in Cardiff & Bristol. 100+ bedrooms, multiple bars & function rooms.

The Job

As Assistant HR you will be reporting to the Hotel Manager, assisting in the process to oversee all people-related functions, including recruitment, on-boarding, training & development, benefits, maintaining employee relations, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in Recruitment & On-boarding: Managing the full hiring life-cycle, from sourcing to integration.
  • Training & Development: Identifying needs, planning and coordinating learning programs with heads of department and delivering in house training sessions.
  • Document Performance Management: Developing and implementing performance review systems.
  • Employee Relations: Fostering a positive work environment, handling grievances and overseeing disciplinary actions.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Strategic Partnership: Advising senior leadership on HR matters.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to current legislation and regulations.

The Person Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a HR Assistant, in a hotel or hospitality environment is ESSENTIAL.
  • Experience in recruitment, on-boarding and driving employee engagement.
  • Able to assist in planning and implementing hotel training and development initiatives.
  • Thorough understanding of employment law and related legislation.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • CIPD Level 3 Diploma is desired or working towards.
  • Background in Hotel / Hospitality is ESSENTIAL.
