Role Summary

Design and deliver innovative, multi-product lifestyle and gifting ranges, leading projects from concept through to production. Create original artwork and prints that bring fresh, commercially relevant ideas to life across a diverse product portfolio. Act as a key guardian of the brand’s visual identity, translating its handwriting into compelling, customer-facing assets across products, packaging, and seasonal communications. Your work will directly influence the visual proposition, driving customer engagement, supporting sales performance, and strengthening brand integrity and loyalty.

Role Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and develop ranges across multiple categories all year round.
  • Drive newness and innovation, staying ahead of current and future trends.
  • Create design packs, CADs, and artworks to achieve high-quality first samples within critical path timelines.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to maintain strong commercial awareness.
  • Review ranges with Buyers to ensure choice, balance, and maximise best sellers.
  • Collaborate with Buyers on product development based on sales and trend insights.
  • Liaise with suppliers on product details, fabrics, and construction.
  • Present seasonal ranges and product vision to teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Travel for inspiration and sourcing trips; attend trade fairs and supplier visits.
  • Work with tech and responsible sourcing teams to ensure sustainable fabrics and trims.
  • Collaborate with print and graphics teams to develop unique prints.

Skills and Experience

  • Degree or equivalent in Design based subject.
  • At least 3+ years’ experience at working at a designer level within the gift, home, packaging industry preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, like designers, buying and merchandisers, account managers and suppliers.
  • Proven ability to design product and packaging design from concept to final artwork.
  • Experience working on product and packaging design from start to finish – from concept to the creation of final artwork and proofing.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Strong design skill including prints and graphics.
  • Presentation skills.

  • Strong eye for trends and understanding of the FatFace brand.
  • Be organised, a self-starter and able to prioritise own workload.
  • Fantastic knowledge of lifestyle product including gifting, packaging and working on many options.
  • Ability to convey designs from paper to 3D design.
  • Good Knowledge of Factory processes and be able to articulate yourself clearly and confidently when communicating and briefing out suppliers.
  • Creative and able to convey vision of Fat Face Brand.
  • Comprehensive understanding of customer profile, product range & competitors.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of trend within the marketplace.
  • Be resilient in working at pace, adapting to change and open to constructive feedback.
  • You should thrive and be able to organise and prioritise own workload.
  • Work well within a collaborative, team focused environment, meeting tight deadlines and sticking to critical path.

  • Collaboration with External Suppliers, FatFace Directors, Internal Product Teams (Design, Buying, Merchandising), and Industry Networking.
  • Accountable for Team Performance and Development, Project Delivery, Timelines and Deadlines.
