Faststream is partnering with one of the world's leading cruise companies to recruit a Senior Manager, Maritime Technical - Hull Integrity based in Surrey, UK. This is a rare opportunity to join a global marine technical team and take ownership of hull integrity, structural condition management, corrosion prevention and coating performance across a fleet of approximately 70 vessels. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving asset reliability, dry dock planning, lifecycle management and long-term fleet performance.
The Opportunity
Reporting within the Marine Asset Management function, you will act as the fleet subject matter expert for hull structures, steel condition and coating systems. You will work closely with technical operations, dry dock planning, procurement and asset management teams to ensure structural risks are identified early and managed effectively throughout the vessel lifecycle. This role offers significant visibility across the business, combining technical leadership, strategic planning and commercial decision-making within one of the most recognised names in the cruise industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead fleet-wide Steel Condition Assessment (SCA) programmes and risk-based inspection strategies.
- Oversee hull integrity, corrosion monitoring and structural condition management across the fleet.
- Develop and implement coating and corrosion protection strategies for critical vessel structures.
- Define steel renewal and coating scopes for dry dock projects and support execution activities.
- Provide technical expertise on structural repairs, coating performance and incident investigations.
- Work closely with classification societies, flag administrations, shipyards and specialist contractors.
- Drive data-led asset management through AMOS-X and related maintenance systems.
- Manage CAPEX planning, budgeting and lifecycle cost analysis for hull integrity and coating programmes.
Who We're Looking For
We are interested in speaking with experienced maritime professionals who possess a strong background in structural asset management, hull integrity or marine coatings. Suitable candidates are likely to come from backgrounds such as:
- Technical Superintendent
- Senior Technical Superintendent
- Hull Integrity Superintendent
- Ship Manager
- Classification Society Surveyor
- Naval Architect
- Marine Structural Engineer
You will ideally have:
- A degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- 8-10+ years of experience within ship structural management, hull integrity, marine coatings or related technical disciplines.
- Previous shore-based technical management experience.
- Strong understanding of structural surveys, UTM campaigns, steel renewal and dry dock projects.
- Experience working with classification societies and maritime regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of AMOS or equivalent technical asset management systems.
- Experience within the cruise, passenger or wider commercial shipping sector.
