Faststream Recruitment is working with a leading international organisation within the subsea cable industry to recruit an experienced Project Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a large, established business delivering complex, high-value subsea cable projects across the globe. The position is UK based and predominantly remote, with occasional travel required for client meetings and international project coordination.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful commercial and contractual delivery of major subsea cable projects, working closely with engineering, marine, operations, finance, quality and other internal teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing projects through the full lifecycle, from pre-award through to completion
- Taking responsibility for project P&L, budgets, cost control and forecasting
- Developing project strategies to maximise revenue and margin
- Managing project risks and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies
- Managing contracts, including commercial terms, scope, schedule and technical requirements
- Negotiating and managing project variations and changes
- Managing key customer relationships throughout project delivery
- Monitoring project financial performance and reporting key issues to senior leadership
- Coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders across global projects
- Supporting the successful delivery of several complex projects simultaneously
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an established Project Manager with experience delivering technically complex projects within a relevant industry. Ideally, your background will include:
- 5+ years' Project Management experience within a relevant technical environment
- Experience within power cables or telecommunications cables would be highly desirable
- Alternatively, experience within offshore wind, Oil & Gas, subsea, offshore construction or cable installation
- Exposure to cable-lay vessels, subsea installation or cable landing stations would be particularly relevant
- Strong commercial experience including budgets, forecasting, cost control and P&L
- Contract management and negotiation experience
- Experience managing large, cross-functional project teams
- Strong customer and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage complex, high-value projects within an international organisation
- Degree in Engineering, Business or another relevant technical discipline preferred
