Are you an experienced Operational Excellence or QHSE professional with a strong background in marine and offshore operations? Faststream is working with an established offshore marine organisation to recruit an Operational Excellence Manager to lead and develop operational improvement, assurance, governance and risk management across its shore-based and vessel operations. The RoleThis is a senior position within the ship management function, responsible for driving continuous improvement across marine, technical and QHSE activities. You will take ownership of the operational excellence framework, ensuring systems, processes and standards support safe, reliable and efficient vessel operations while meeting regulatory, client and industry requirements. The role will work closely with fleet management, technical teams and offshore personnel and will also lead a small operational excellence function.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement the operational excellence strategy across the business and fleet.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across marine, technical and QHSE operations. Maintain and improve the company management system, governance framework and associated procedures.
Ensure compliance with ISM, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and relevant marine regulations.
Develop assurance, audit and verification programmes across vessel and shore-based operations. Identify and manage operational and technical risks across the fleet.
Support investigations into incidents, breakdowns and operational failures, ensuring root causes and corrective actions are effectively addressed.
Provide marine and technical governance and support to fleet management and vessel teams. Develop KPIs, dashboards and performance reporting covering QHSE, reliability and technical performance. Identify improvement projects focused on fleet reliability, operational performance and efficiency.
Support the implementation of new technology, systems and working practices across the fleet.
Ensure planned maintenance and fleet management systems remain effective and fit for purpose.
Develop and maintain emergency response and crisis management arrangements.
Lead, coach and develop the operational excellence team.
Deliver internal workshops and training around continuous improvement, operational standards and culture.
Work with senior stakeholders, clients, suppliers and external authorities as required.
RequirementsPrevious experience in a senior Operational Excellence, QHSE, Marine Assurance or similar role.
Strong experience within the marine, offshore or vessel management sector.
Good understanding of marine operations, technical risk and vessel management.
Experience developing and maintaining management systems and governance frameworks.
Strong knowledge of ISM and ISO management standards.
Experience with audit, assurance, risk management and incident investigation.
Track record of successfully implementing operational improvement or change programmes.
Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience working across international or multi-site operations would be advantageous. A relevant Health & Safety, Quality, Marine or Operational Excellence qualification would be beneficial.
Lean or Six Sigma experience would also be advantageous.
