A leading organisation is expanding its specialist team and is seeking an Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer to support complex offshore vessel projects worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically challenging Dynamic Positioning (DP) and marine power system projects, developing specialist expertise across vessel electrical systems, automation, control, and marine assurance. You will join a highly skilled multidisciplinary team supporting clients across the offshore energy and marine industries, providing technical assurance and engineering expertise throughout the vessel lifecycle.
As an Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer, you will support the assessment and assurance of modern offshore vessels and their associated electrical and control systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing marine electrical system designs, documentation, and technical studies
- Supporting Dynamic Positioning (DP) system assurance activities
- Assessing vessel power generation, distribution, and redundancy arrangements
- Reviewing electrical failure scenarios and supporting FMEA activities
- Supporting Power Management System (PMS) and Integrated Automation System (IAS) reviews
- Assessing vessel automation and control system architectures
- Reviewing propulsion, thruster, and variable frequency drive systems
- Supporting vessel trials, commissioning activities, and offshore inspections
- Producing clear technical reports and engineering documentation for clients
The role will provide exposure to a wide range of marine technologies, including modern DP vessels, hybrid power solutions, and emerging decarbonisation technologies.
