Overview

In this role you will support complex offshore vessel projects by assuring electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering technical assurance across the vessel lifecycle for offshore energy and marine applications. You’ll work on DP and marine power system projects, shaping safe and reliable vessel performance. The position offers exposure to advanced vessel technologies and decarbonisation initiatives, with a focus on impactful engineering outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Review marine electrical system designs, documentation and studies
  • Support Dynamic Positioning (DP) system assurance activities
  • Assess vessel power generation, distribution and redundancy
  • Review electrical failure scenarios and contribute to FMEA
  • Support Power Management System (PMS) and Integrated Automation System (IAS) reviews
  • Assess vessel automation and control system architectures
  • Review propulsion, thruster and VFD systems
  • Assist with vessel trials, commissioning and offshore inspections
  • Produce technical reports and client-facing engineering documentation

Key requirements

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Control Systems, Automation or related discipline
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, documentation and system philosophies
  • Excellent communication skills for clear technical reporting
  • Proactive approach and willingness to develop specialist marine assurance knowledge
  • Experience in marine electrical power systems or related areas is advantageous
  • Familiarity with PMS, IAS, VFDs, or DP systems is advantageous
