As a key member of Fastned’s legal team, you’ll play a crucial role in expanding our property portfolio, powering our mission to build the best charging network in the world. From land acquisitions to leasing, you’ll take the lead on drafting and negotiating deals that fuel Fastned’s growth. You’ll handle everything from straightforward contracts to high‑stakes, bespoke agreements, becoming the go‑to legal expert for Fastned’s Network Development and Construction Team.
Your role will focus on assisting with:
- Structuring and negotiating third‑party easements, licenses with DNOs and IDNOs
- Drafting and reviewing Section 278 and Section 106 agreements
- Reporting on titles for site acquisitions
- Filing of SDLT
- Assisting with the negotiation of substation leases
It is anticipated that the person who fills this position will be the in‑house go‑to for all things legal‑related for our grid connections and for them to grow this relationship with our grid connection partners. As such, you will be at the forefront of our expansion. You will also assist the Property Legal Counsel in the preparation of legal due diligence, including report on titles before transactions as well as the filing of SDLT. Based in the heart of London (Old Street), you’ll be part of Fastned’s global legal team, collaborating with senior leaders including the UK Lead Legal Counsel, Country Director, and Expansion Lead. Who are we looking for? We’re looking for a Paralegal who’s ready to grow and make an impact. If you're a UK‑qualified lawyer or currently completing your legal qualification, and have a passion for all things legal and working in a dynamic, collaborative environment, this could be the perfect role for you.
You’re a paralegal with:
- 2 years experience in UK property law
- Completed an LLB, GDL conversion qualification, or SQE1
- Experience drafting and negotiating contracts in English
- You’re articulate, clear, and love collaborating
- Commercially savvy, solution‑focused, and always thinking a step ahead
- You thrive in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment
- You actively manage projects from start to finish with a clear understanding of how to prioritise and when to escalate for further assistance
- Strong active listening skills and emotional intelligence to navigate complex conversations
