Join a fast-growing company with a purpose! At Fastned, you will actively contribute to accelerating the transition to electric mobility. Together with over 450 colleagues (more than 50 nationalities) across 10 countries, we have big plans: we are building a Europe-wide network of 1,000 beautiful fast-charging stations where electric drivers can charge their cars with energy from the sun and wind. We have recently been voted best charging network in the UK, France, and the Netherlands, a testimony to our drive to offer the best charging experience to EV drivers!

Your role as a senior member of the UK expansion team involves driving the growth of Fastned and contributing to our mission: 'Giving freedom to the electric driver'. You will work directly alongside the UK Expansion Lead to shape and drive our site acquisition strategy, identifying and securing prime locations, forging strategic partnerships, and continuously raising the bar for how Fastned grows its UK footprint.

In concrete terms, this means you:

  • Contribute to the UK network development strategy: defining target geographies, site typologies, partnership models, and deal structures that maximise long-term network value.
  • Lead the identification, structuring, negotiation, and execution of new EV charging site opportunities across a wide range of counterparties, ensuring every transaction is aligned with the network development strategy, commercially robust, and delivered on terms that meet Fastned's financial performance targets.
  • Lead complex, high-value negotiations independently and with commercial authority, structuring leasehold, freehold, and licence agreements that deliver on both strategic and financial targets.
  • Own and actively manage a portfolio of contracted and pipeline sites, maintaining rigorous discipline over deal timelines, commercial terms, and internal reporting standards.
  • Work cross-functionally with design, planning, construction, legal, and operations teams to ensure seamless transition from signed agreement through to live station.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the team's processes, tools, data and market intelligence to prioritise effort on the highest-value opportunities.
  • Have a keen eye for market developments and knowledge of when to take advantage of the right opportunities.
  • Help the team structure and streamline processes as much as possible to maximise effectiveness & efficiency.
  • Embrace an ambassadorial approach to representing Fastned externally at industry events and trade shows.
  • Act as a senior thought leader within the UK team: mentoring colleagues, elevating team standards in negotiation and market analysis.
  • Bring creative, outside-the-box thinking to how we structure partnerships and unlock sites that others cannot.

Who are we looking for?

You are a high-impact dealmaker with deep roots in the UK commercial property market and the strategic instincts of a leader. You bring a level of professional maturity that allows you to operate with autonomy, challenge the status quo, and bring others with you. You bring along extensive experience with negotiations in commercial real estate, ideally in site acquisition with private landowners, agents, and governmental bodies.

Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial real estate site acquisition or development.
  • Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), or demonstrable equivalent professional standing.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • An established and active network of relevant stakeholders across UK property.
  • Comfortable managing dozens of projects simultaneously, at different stages of development.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Open for regular travel within the United Kingdom and occasional travel to continental Europe.
  • You’re an outgoing person who enjoys seeing new places and meeting new people.
  • Directly relevant experience in ultra-rapid EV charging is not a pre-requisite, but it is a positive.
  • Experience with grid connections and work with DNOs, IDNOs and ICPs.
  • Experience with the UK planning system as it relates to EV infrastructure or energy assets.
  • Strong financial literacy: you know your way around a financial model.
  • Highly motivated to accelerate the energy transition.

Join us in building a better future. We are on a mission to make a positive impact, but we don't forget to recognise & celebrate our successes, big and small. We put a focus on work-life balance, provide you with genuine work flexibility and have family-friendly policies in place.

Our core benefits include:

  • Stock option plan.
  • A training and development budget of £2,600 per year per employee.
  • 29 holidays plus two mission days.
  • Provision of your own EV car with charging expenses covered.

  • Full health and dental cover via Bupa.
  • Daily commuting costs to the office are reimbursed.
  • Daily vegetarian lunches, snacks, and drinks provided at our office.
  • Weekly CrossFit classes with a trained professional.
  • Mental Wellbeing support.
  • Physical Wellbeing support.
  • Personalised coaching support for parents.
  • Access to a broad range of women's health professionals.
