We have recently been voted best charging network in the UK, France, and the Netherlands, a testimony to our drive to offer the best charging experience to EV drivers!

Your role

As our UK Expansion Lead, you will drive the growth of Fastned and contribute to our mission: 'Giving freedom to the Electric Driver'. In this role you will help drive the growth of our locations in the UK & Ireland, as we strive to build a European network of 1,000 fast charging stations on prime locations.

In concrete terms, this means you…

  • Act as an inspiring, hands‑on leader who coaches and develops a talented team of 3 Expansion Managers, fostering a culture of high performance, ownership, and collaboration.
  • Design and execute the strategy to strengthen Fastned’s position as a leading charging provider in the United Kingdom. Together with a talented team, you will secure new locations (from scouting to signed land leases or freeholds) and develop new partnerships (with both commercial land owners and local authorities).
  • Set ambitious goals and implement and deliver on a strong expansion plan for the UK, while also being hands‑on in creating concrete opportunities. New locations are the main goal for you and the team. You will oversee and lead key real estate transactions and negotiations, embodying Fastned’s vision and mission.
  • Help the team structure and streamline processes as much as possible to maximise effectiveness & efficiency.
  • Be highly proficient in dealing with financial and techno‑economic topics (together with our subject experts), own the business case and manage your team in negotiations.
  • Have a keen eye for market developments and know when to take advantage of the right opportunities, including monitoring policy development and understanding its impact on our development plans.

The role will be based in London, where you will provide leadership for the local UK expansion team. You will become part of the Network Development leadership team, a fun and diverse group of professionals spread across Europe. You will report directly to the Network Development Director. You'll enjoy leading and collaborating with teams both in person and remotely as the organisation continues to grow.

We value your input, we expect you to think critically and take ownership. Part of this means generating and pitching ideas to develop our business offerings and ensuring support for these ideas within Fastned. You will collaborate closely with Fastned’s functional teams (from design through to operations) in the UK and Europe, and you will get the unique chance to learn a lot about our future‑driven industry, where you can make a real impact!

Who are we looking for

In order to be successful in this role you have to be convincing, a real networker with outstanding people and management skills. You bring along extensive experience with negotiations, as you will need to be at ease when negotiating with both governmental bodies and private landowners. Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in expansion / real estate and ideally in an international environment.
  • Previous people management experience, demonstrating your ability to adaptively lead and inspire a team.
  • An existing network of key government and private stakeholders in energy, infrastructure, transport or e‑mobility and an appetite to deepen it further.
  • You are a strong communicator, with a problem‑solving mindset. Your commercial understanding helps you to filter a lot of information, assess its relevance and continuously and clearly prioritise accordingly.
  • Open for regular travel within the United Kingdom and Europe.
  • Highly motivated to accelerate the energy transition.

Nice-to-have…

  • You are a Chartered Surveyor.
  • Previous experience in high‑growth companies, renewable energy, or adjacent fields.
