We are seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to support students with communication and language needs. The role involves assessing students, delivering targeted interventions, and supporting staff to implement communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess students with speech, language, and communication needs
- Deliver one-to-one and small group speech and language interventions
- Develop individual communication support plans
- Provide strategies for staff to support communication in lessons
- Support students with expressive and receptive language difficulties
- Work with students with SEN, including ASD and communication needs
- Liaise with parents/carers regarding communication support
- Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff
- Maintain accurate assessment and intervention records
- Review progress and adapt support accordingly
Essential Criteria
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification
- Experience supporting children or young people with communication needs
- Understanding of speech, language, and communication difficulties
- Strong assessment and intervention skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in an education setting
- Experience supporting students with SEN or ASD
- Knowledge of communication interventions and strategies
- Experience delivering group interventions
- Membership of relevant professional body
