We Are Looking For
The Business Development Manager is tasked with developing and diversifying business so that income increases, and the future and growth of the organization is guaranteed. They should work to present opportunities that result in the best strategic and financial outcomes for the organization. The Business Development Manager should be an innovative self-starter who is willing to challenge the status quo and have an in-depth understanding of the electronic components industry.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Closes new business deals while coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Enhances organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
- Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
- Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
- Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
- Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
- Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills.
- Demand creation - Using your experience in the electronic components industry to define critical markets and new customers in the assigned sales territory.
- Promoting and selling the Value Add, Supply Chain, and Full Life Cycle programs.
- Planning your sales strategy and developing key internal and external relationships to ensure a strong foundation for solution selling.
- Establishing and fostering relationships with customers to win design opportunities and deal with existing business challenges.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction related to supply chain management and other value-added services.
- Developing strategic plans for all assigned accounts, selling, and marketing the full set of BJG offerings incorporating in-depth knowledge of BJG’s key supplier lines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring (Qualifications & Skills):
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in sales and relationship management in aviation, aerospace, defense, or other related technical fields.
- Mil/Aero experience a must.
- Experience in sales, marketing or aerospace industry related field.
- Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Current or recent industry experience and knowledge of the assigned market/territory.
- Experience selling value add, supply chain, and full life cycle services.
- Experience developing sales strategy.
- Proven ability to articulate complex strategies and able to execute on them.
- In-depth understanding of pricing programs and models within the electronics industry.
- Experience interacting with vendors and customers in a technical and engineering environment.
- Experience preparing comprehensive internal quarterly business reviews (iQBR).
- Proficiency in sales tracking systems, SalesForce.com, Oracle.
- Motivates others by creating a climate in which people want to do their best.
