The ideal Shoe Salesperson is passionate about fashion and styling and has the ability to cultivate and grow a customer following, both digitally and in-store.

Responsibilities:

  • Set and achieve sales goals, for both in-store and digital selling with effective use of selling tools (inclusive of text and social media).
  • Build lasting relationships with customers.
  • Give the best service to our customers on their terms.
  • Provide honest and confident feedback to customers about style and fit.
  • Seek fashion and product knowledge to build your expertise.
  • Work with the team to keep the department customer-ready, which means filling orders, stocking, re-merchandising, price markdowns, and light cleaning.
  • Grow relationships by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.

The hours and schedule for this position will vary by week depending on business needs. This role may require you to be flexible to occasionally performing work/duties in a department other than the one you were hired into.

Physical Requirements:

  • Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching in order to handle merchandise and assist customers.
  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting these items above the head.
  • Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay: $12.60 per hour. This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.

At Nordstrom, the commission for selling employees varies by merchandise sold. Apparel, shoes, and accessories sales typically range from 3% to 14.5%. The commission for Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales roles is typically 3%.
