As our Trainee Merchandiser, you’ll support the Womenswear Merchandising team in planning and trading product categories through accurate reporting, data management and system maintenance. This is a fast-paced and analytical role where you’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the department, supporting decision-making and helping to drive sales, stock and margin performance. Working closely with the Assistant Merchandiser and Merchandiser, as well as cross-functional teams and suppliers, you’ll help ensure product is delivered on time, systems are accurate and the business is set up for successful trading across all channels.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the range planning process by preparing timely information for buy meetings, including historical analysis and fast sales insights.
  • Maintaining merchandising systems in line with the critical path, ensuring data accuracy across product and purchase orders.
  • Producing daily and weekly sales reports, including Monday trade packs, to support trading decisions.
  • Managing Linecards and Never Out of Stock lines, ensuring continuity styles are correctly set up and maintained.
  • Overseeing intake reporting, highlighting any risks or shortfalls to the Merchandiser and tracking supplier critical paths.
  • Raising purchase orders and barcodes accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring alignment between systems and range plans.
  • Communicating with suppliers and distribution teams to manage deliveries, amendments and ensure stock accuracy.
  • Supporting markdown uploads, picture packs and cross-channel information sharing, while building knowledge across key systems such as Origin, Board and Vision.
