The Role
This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity, ideal for placement students or recent graduates in BA Fashion Design & Technology. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, commercial environment, with exposure to the full design and product development lifecycle. The role supports the application of academic learning in a real‑world setting, while developing both creative and technical skills. You’ll also gain insight into supplier communication, garment development, and production, building a strong foundation for future roles in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting with seasonal trend research and inspiration.
- Updating range plans and contributing to the development of colour palettes and mood boards.
- Producing CAD drawings across multi‑product categories.
- Creating and amending clear, accurate tech packs.
- Supporting Garment Technologists and Senior Designers during fit sessions.
- Liaising with suppliers on a daily basis, including chasing samples, strike‑offs, and fabric swatches.
- Assisting with the sourcing and organisation of fabrics and trims.
- Maintaining and updating administrative systems to accurately track sample development.
About You
- A degree‑level qualification in Fashion Design or a related discipline (e.g. BA Fashion Design & Technology).
- Proficiency in Adobe software, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- A proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within a commercial setting.
- Confidence in presenting ideas and work to a wider team.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to respond to the pace and demands of industry.
