As our retail business continues to grow in scale and complexity, the need for clear, timely and commercially grounded insight is critical. The Retail Planning & Analytics Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting Retail Leadership by translating data into actionable insight that drives performance across stores, markets and channels.
Reporting directly into the VP Retail, this role sits at the heart of the Retail leadership agenda, acting as a strategic thought partner to enable better decision‑making across trading performance.
Key Accountabilities- Support the end‑to‑end retail performance view, providing clear insight on sales, margin, conversion, productivity and stock efficiency.
- Develop and maintain weekly, monthly and quarterly trading insight for Retail Leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities and key trade‑offs.
- Partner closely with the VP Retail & EMEA trading to support trade decisions, using data to proactively influence EMEA promotional / MD plans and seasonal assortment strategies.
- Work closely with retail estate to help prioritize any store portfolio investment decisions.
- Provide analytical support, identifying where space, range or inventory changes can unlock performance.
- Translate complex data into simple, actionable recommendations.
- Bridge the gap between central planning strategy and store‑level execution reality; ensure the retail team fully understands the strategy and flag any risks or opportunities associated with changes suggested by EMEA.
- Analyse & manage excess stock in the local distribution centre.
- Review store stock holdings and propose store‑to‑store transfers, accounting for transfer cost and profitability, and confirm with the EMEA branch planning lead.
- Own and evolve core retail performance dashboards.
- Simplify and standardise reporting, reducing duplication across teams.
- Continuously improve how retail insight is shared, consumed and acted upon.
- You are a commercially minded analyst with a deep curiosity for how retail works in stores, with stock and with customers.
- Experienced in retail analytics, branch planning, merchandising analysis or commercial finance.
- Strong analytical capability, with confidence to work with complex data sets.
- Ability to tell a compelling story with data, adapting insight for different senior audiences.
- Proactive mindset — you look for patterns, not just answers to questions already asked.
- Strong business acumen, understanding the levers that drive store performance.
