Komodo is the original ethical fashion brand based in North London. We are looking for a highly organised intern with a keen eye for detail to join our Design team. Working closely with the team in all aspects of developing a collection from concept to production; the successful applicant will gain first-hand knowledge of how a small, independent sustainable fashion brand runs. The role will include a wide range of tasks, therefore the role is best suited to an individual who is self-motivated and keen to get involved.

Internship Requirements

  • We are looking for a part-time design intern starting ASAP for 6-12 months (Length and start/finish dates can be flexible.)
  • You’ll be available to work at least 3 days a week (10am-6pm) at our studio based in the Primrose Hill area (North London).
  • The days you work are flexible and we can discuss you working more days if you require.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Assisting the design team on all initial research
  • Assisting the design team with the development of Concept and Colour palette
  • Helping create fabric sourcing packs to send out to suppliers
  • Responsible for organising fabrics into new season folders and keeping an up to date library of core fabrics
  • Assisting in creating all initial CAD work as well as recolouring graphics and print artworks
  • Creating print graphics and other artwork
  • Helps to create and maintain all seasonal working boards
  • Day to day organisation and admin work for the design team
  • Assisting on creating technical packs to send out to suppliers as part of the product development of a collection
  • Is present in all fittings and assisting by taking notes throughout
  • Responsible for the logistics of new season samples to HO and Wholesale Agents
  • Assisting in creating branding graphics for new season collections
  • Assisting on all photoshoots and at all wholesale trade shows
  • Helps with the visual merchandising of new season collections
  • Assisting in creation of wholesale product catalogues

About you

  • Placements are best suited to students required to do an internship as part of their studies (studying at bachelor’s degree level or higher). Although recent graduates also considered.
  • Potential candidates will also have the below skillset:
  • Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with strong photoshop and CAD skills
  • Good graphic design and illustrator skills
  • Motivated with a keen interest in sustainable and ethical fashion
  • Eager to learn and develop
  • Internship with a bursary of £360 per month provided (for 3 days – if you work more days this will increase accordingly.)
  • Hands on experience within a small Design team
  • Relaxed work environment
