We're looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our International Finance team, supporting financial accounting, compliance, and reporting across our global operations.

You'll play an important role in ensuring the accurate processing of financial information, supporting international compliance activities, and helping the team meet key reporting deadlines across multiple territories.

Who you are

  • Experience working in an accounts or finance role, with exposure to financial accounting, reconciliations, VAT, or month‑end processes.
  • Confident processing financial information accurately, with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with reconciliations, journals, and financial reporting.
  • Experience of intercompany accounting, multi‑entity environments, or international finance would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Exposure to Business Central or a similar ERP system would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive team player who enjoys working collaboratively and building positive relationships with colleagues and external partners.
  • Analytical, eager to learn, and keen to develop within an international finance function.
  • What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting the International Finance team with financial accounting, compliance activities, and reporting across multiple international territories.
  • Preparing and reconciling VAT returns for Canada, Australia, and Jersey, working closely with external advisors to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
  • Processing international and intercompany transactions in Business Central, owning intercompany reconciliations across all territories, maintaining schedules, and resolving outstanding balances.
  • Supporting month‑end activities, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations for items such as Bloomingdale’s intersell accruals, international legal fees, and commercial rent tax.
  • Assisting with the ongoing delivery and development of sustainability reporting, including carbon reporting, Global Packaging Tax, internal audit support, and data gathering.
  • Supporting annual audits, external government requests, Business Central reporting, turnover certificates, and other ad hoc finance and compliance activities.
  • Processing international payments, resolving payment queries, and supporting the rollout of global e‑invoicing requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners while identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting.
