Working as part of a dedicated team, you will assist in the production of the Burberry iconic fabric. To understand the mill production plan and respond to machine changes. Following change priorities to ensure machines are leased and knotted in the correct sequence. Work to ensure weaving machines are leased, knotted and operational with minimum delay to production. Produce weaving sets using a drawing machine. Assist the weaving team to cover break weaving where necessary. Work to the highest quality standards whilst achieving daily targets and ensuring highest productivity in the weaving area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining safety aspects of all Preparation machines i.e. All Control Buttons – Safety Guards
- Leasing out and operating knotting machines for preparation beams.
- Preparing knotted looms for production technician start-ups.
- Preparing loom sets on a Staubli drawing in machine.
- Maintenance and cleaning of knotting and drawing in equipment and accessories.
- Covering weavers break times where necessary.
- To utilise all the machinery to its full potential at all times.
- Ensure relevant documentation for work schedules and loom tickets are used and checked.
- To follow company procedure on the documentation of logging faults & repairs on all machines and passing to the line manager.
- Aid in the creation of standard operating procedures for all tasks.
- To aid with the implementation of 5s and to sustain standards.
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Textile background – experience working on textile machinery to high quality standards (training will be given).
- Basic understanding of the weaving process.
- Ability to follow instructions and specifications.
- Precision and accuracy.
- Problem solving using Lean tools and techniques.
