Who you are:
- You are an established BI Analyst with strong hands-on experience building and delivering reporting solutions in a commercial environment, preferably within the retail sector.

Primary objective of the job:
The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for delivering high quality, scalable reporting solutions that support day-to-day decision making across the organisation. The focus of the role is on building, maintaining, and optimising dashboards and reports that provide consistent and reliable visibility of the business’ core KPIs. Working within a modern BI environment, the role will leverage Power BI and Microsoft Fabric to develop robust data models and reporting layers. The analyst will ensure reporting is accurate, performant, and aligned to business definitions, enabling teams across the organisation to access and use data effectively.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards with a focus on usability, performance, and consistency.
- Build and manage data models using best practices (including DAX), ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Translate business requirements into clearly defined reporting outputs, working closely with stakeholders across trading, marketing and operational teams.
- Work closely with the Data Engineering team to test, validate, and onboard new data sources into the BI environment.
- Enhance and optimise existing reports to improve performance, reduce complexity, and ensure alignment to business definitions.
- Support the integration of data into Microsoft Fabric, contributing to the development of a modern, unified BI platform.
- Investigate and resolve data and reporting issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business users.
- Apply and uphold data governance standards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and trust in all reporting outputs.
- Create and maintain documentation for reports, data models, and processes to support ongoing use and development.
What you’ll need:
- Solid experience in a Business Intelligence role, ideally within a retail, eCommerce, or consumer-focused business.
- Strong technical expertise in Power BI, including report building, data modelling, and DAX; familiarity with Microsoft Fabric is advantageous.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and validating data.
- Experience working with data warehouses and structured data environments.
- Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining production-grade BI reports and dashboards.
- Good understanding of core retail metrics (e.g. sales, stock, margin, trading performance).
- Ability to gather and interpret business requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
- A structured and disciplined approach to BI development, with a focus on quality, performance, and maintainability.
